Final part of a four-part class. If a student takes all four classes, they will have taken all of the necessary class time to qualify for the Concealed Carry License. After a student completes all four sessions, they will have accumulated 26-28 hours of instruction – more than the NM state mandate of 15 hours. Students must display safe gun handling on the range and pass the shooting qualification at the end of Session 4 in order to pass the course and obtain a concealed carry license.
Some of the topics covered are:
- Gun cleaning
- An overview of Federal gun laws
- Personal defense both inside and outside the home
- Avoiding and controlling a confrontation
- A summary of New Mexico self-defense law – where you can and can’t carry – when you can use deadly force.
- Drawing from a holster and review of the material covered in the course as a whole.
- Finally, the qualifying shoot for the New Mexico Concealed Carry License.
